A bundle of 25-30 natural, full-round broomcorn stalks, measured, sorted and counted by hand for broommaking, plaiting and traditional fiber-art projects
I purchased a wonderfully enormous supply before discovering that sometimes basket reed is simply an easier fit for the way I like to weave. Since broomcorn stalks are becoming increasingly difficult to find, I’m passing a limited number along to other makers who can put them to good use
Each bundle includes:
25-30 full-round broomcorn stalks
Approximately 8-11 inches long
Natural and undyed
Shipped whole and unsplit
Measured, sorted and counted by hand
These stalks can be used whole or carefully split lengthwise, giving you approximately 60 half-stalk weaving pieces from one bundle. I do not pre-split them.
Soak the stalks in warm water until flexible before weaving. Because broomcorn is a natural material, variations in color, thickness, texture and ends are expected.
Free U.S. shipping is included. These longer stalks require sturdy packaging to help prevent bending or crushing, and current postage costs are unusually high. I’ve included packaging and shipping in the price so the amount shown at checkout is your complete price.
