Finding Home in the Blue Ridge 🏡
A few years ago, I came to these mountains looking for peace 💫Somewhere along the way, I found myself
These brooms are an extension of my life here. They're made after shifts as a nurse, during quiet mornings before the world wakes up, under full moons and cold mountain nights, with my precious kitties keeping me company at my feet ✨🧙♀️
The trees on this land stand like giants around me. Their branches feel like protection and warning all at once. That feeling finds its way into my work, too…
Every broom is made by my hands from start to finish ✨ No factory ✨No production line ✨No team behind the scenes ✨
Just me, the broomcorn, the mountains, and whatever story wants to be woven that night 💫
Thank you for being here and supporting this dream of mine. It still humbles me that something made by my two hands can end up in homes all over the country. I hope these brooms bring a little comfort, a little beauty, a sense of protection, and maybe even a bit of magic to the people who welcome them in 💜
I'm deeply thankful that others see the same beauty in this old craft that I do. What started as a way to quiet my own mind has become a way to connect with people I may never have met otherwise, and for that, I'll always be grateful ✨🧙♀️
Thank you for being part of the story 💜🧙♀️🧹

🧹 Besoms, Broomcorn and Questions
✨ Are your brooms handmade?
Yes…every broom I create is individually handcrafted by me in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. I do not mass produce or import my work. Each broom is stitched, woven, shaped, and finished by hand using traditional Appalachian broom-making methods, hand-dyed broomcorn, and carefully selected natural materials.
🌿 What materials are used in your handmade brooms?
My handcrafted besoms and hearth brooms are made using broomcorn, twine, natural fibers, and real hardwood handles. Most all broom handles are foraged from my property or sustainably gathered Appalachian woods such as maple, cherry, crepe myrtle, poplar, and other naturally shaped branches chosen for their texture and character.
🧹 What is a besom broom?
A besom is a traditional handcrafted broom often associated with hearth tending, folklore, home blessings, and ritual cleansing. Historically, besoms were practical household tools, but over time they also became connected to folk traditions, protection practices, and symbolic sweeping away of stagnant energy.
🔥 Are your brooms functional or decorative?
Both! Some customers use their handmade brooms for light sweeping, hearth tending, sacred space cleansing, or ritual work, while others display them as Appalachian folk art, witch cottage décor, or statement pieces for the home. Because each broom is handcrafted individually, many people choose to display them as heirloom-quality art 💫
🌙 Do you offer custom broom commissions?
Yes…I occasionally accept custom broom commissions depending on my schedule and current broom drops. Custom handmade brooms may include specific color palettes, wedding themes, memorial elements, crystals, meaningful woods, or personalized details inspired by Appalachian folklore and folk magic
🌲 What makes Appalachian broom making unique?
Traditional Appalachian craft focuses heavily on handmade construction, natural materials, practical beauty, and preserving the character of the piece itself. My broom-making process is inspired by old hearth traditions, woodland textures, handwoven stitching methods, and the slow artistry of making something useful and beautiful by hand in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
🌿 Are the wood handles real?
Yes! Most of my broom handles are real hardwood branches collected from my property or surrounding Appalachian woods. I intentionally preserve natural curves, knots, twists, and woodland textures rather than forcing every broom into perfect uniformity. No two handles are ever exactly alike.
💜 Where are your brooms made?
All brooms are handmade in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia
✨ How should I care for my broom?
Store your broom in a dry location and avoid prolonged moisture exposure. Many customers choose to hang their brooms bristles-down or display them near a hearth, doorway, or sacred space. Small flyaways can be gently combed or trimmed over time if needed ✂️
🌙 Can your brooms be used for ritual work or home blessings?
Many customers choose my handcrafted besoms for ritual use, home blessings, sacred space cleansing, seasonal décor, or symbolic hearth protection. While every person connects with their broom differently, my work is deeply inspired by folklore, Appalachian hearth traditions, and the quiet magic of handmade craft
🔮 Do you dye your own broomcorn?
Yes! My broomcorn is hand-dyed in small batches using layered dye techniques to create rich, moody color palettes inspired by woodland forests, old hearth fires, mountain skies, mossy hollows, moonlight, and Appalachian folklore
